A Coin

Here's a very tiny piece of prose, a 100-words drabble.

Title: A coin

“Was the world worth conquering, Hephaistion”, - Alexander asked, bending over a map, drawn down to the rivers of India, - “if now two beggars fight in the dirt for a coin with my portrait?...”

Hephaistion smiled from behind and embraced him.

“If like in Trojan myths… I’m doomed to leave first… send a drahm with me for Charon’s ferriage. On the shore of the Letha I’ll take out the coin, and the redemption of your face will stop me from drinking the water of oblivion. And when we meet again, we’ll recognize each other. And I’ll pay you the debt - one drahm which was worthier than the whole world’s gold.
